June Young is the Head Principal at Shine Performing Arts School, formed in September 2018. June is dedicated to the developing and nurturing of all the young performer’s talents at Shine. At Shine we professionally assess the commitment level of students during each session, to determine when a student is ready for the next step. It is vital we understand the needs of all students to see what they are capable of achieving. 

SPA Agency focuses on screen and commercial work for students who attend Shine Performing Arts School. Not only that, at Shine Performing Arts School we specialise in theatre and drama classes and proud members of Equity.

Building confidence in young people to support them during auditions and professional work is our key focus. We do this through various disciplines of the performing arts industry.

Drama Teacher Vacancy at Chandlers Ford and Lymington

We wish to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic part-time teacher to join our team. The role is one day a week

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the performing arts and a desire to promote the subject throughout the school. Suitable for someone able to work evenings along side their current employment.

The successful applicant will be able to run one class independently either employed or freelance and teach students, Acting, Speech & Drama Communication Skills to all levels towards LAMDA exam board. Candidates who are already familiar with the syllabus is preferable, although not necessarily essential.

Desirable skills: Integrity, energy, positive attitude, honesty. Along with skills in both teaching and performance, excellent communication, and organisational skills. General desire to help children increase in confidence and self-esteem through drama.

Job Details

Part-time after school position. One day per week at venue in the area of Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. There is the opportunity to quickly increase hours further depending on pupil demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES-

• Be able to stand in and cover classes for other teachers at short notice

• Communicate with children and their parents.

• Teach children how to speak with a confident articulated voice

• Keep parents informed of their child’s progress

Qualifications

Qualified in Performing Arts Musical Theatre, Choreography and Acting- professional qualification. Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

• Candidates must be a performing arts graduate.

• Love working with children.

• Passionate about helping children develop through the performing arts.
